Extreme Makeover Home Edition
Southern Vinyl Stars on Extreme Makeover Charlotte
When Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
traveled to Charlotte, North Carolina, to rebuild the home that houses Curtis and Alisha King’s Step By Step Home Daycare
,
Southern Vinyl was there to help. After the ABC TV show learned that the King family home was infected with a hazardous mold that threatened their business, as well as their daughter Laila’s health, the show arranged for the King’s home to be demolished and completely rebuilt in only seven days. Southern Vinyl donated and installed both new vinyl fencing and vinyl porch railing for the new home.
About the Kings
As a single mother for many years, Alisha King realizes what an incredible gift a great daycare center can be for families in need. Now, Alisha and her husband Curtis provide that gift to families in their community in a safe, nurturing, affordable and sometimes free way. They provide the kids with things like clothing, food, overnight care, mentoring and constant education.
Step By Step Home Daycare
cares for 11 children during the business day, and 15 after hours and free of charge — sometimes until after 9 pm. They also regularly take children overnight or during the weekend.
While the King's home is full of love, it was also falling apart at the seams. That’s when Extreme Makeover: Home Edition
with the help of Southern Vinyl stepped in to help.
The result was a happy ending for a very special family.
